• Have demonstrated good citizenship, and good academic performance on FCAT and or ACT/SAT.
• Are interested in scholarship opportunities.
• Enjoy associating with people who have similar goals and ambition.
• Are interested in being in the top 10 of your class.

Our goal is to provide the student with a challenging, structured program of study integrating educational
experiences in math, science, communications and health professions to better prepare you
to achieve YOUR goal of becoming a health care professional.

What can I expect as a Health Academy student?

Hard Work
We strongly encourage our students to take Honors classes, Advanced Placement classes, and Dual Enrollment
classes at PJC or UWF.

Community Service
All of our students are required to provide 200 hours of community service before graduation from
the PHS Health Academy.

Transportation Provided
The Academy of Health Professions is a magnet school. We are able to provide transportation to
and from school from anywhere in the country.

Fun!
As a part of the health occupations program, you are entitled to belong to HOSA. This is a
club exclusive to health occupation students. HOSA provides leadership training, competition, & trips.

What do you need to do? (and when do you need to do it?)

• Have Good Teacher Recommendations.
• Have a 2.5 GPA; Good Citizenship; No Discipline Referrals.
• Sign an Honor Code with your parents.
• Write an Essay stating why you want a career in the health profession.
• Give examples of your altruism or unselfish concern for the general welfare of others.
